Mastering R at GCCRC

The Gran Canaria Cognitive Research Center was pleased to host an intensive three-day course on Programming and Data Analysis in R, led by Dr. Teodóra Vékony. As a researcher at the Gran Canaria Cognitive Research Center, Dr. Vékony brings specialized expertise in the neural and behavioral mechanisms of learning, memory, and executive functions to her teaching. The program was designed to provide researchers, teachers, and students with a solid foundation in R, moving from essential coding principles to sophisticated statistical applications. The curriculum offered a comprehensive overview of data management and analysis, beginning with the basics of R programming and data visualization. Participants then progressed to more complex analyses, including linear regressions and linear mixed models, allowing for a deeper exploration of hierarchical and longitudinal data. The ultimate goal was to empower participants with the practical skills and confidence needed to automate their workflows and conduct reproducible research using one of the most powerful tools in modern data science.
