Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) course

The Gran Canaria Cognitive Research Center was pleased to host an intensive course on Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), led by Dr. Robert Urbán from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. This program was designed to provide researchers, teachers, and students with a robust foundation in advanced statistical techniques using the Mplus software environment.

The curriculum offered a comprehensive overview of modern data analysis, beginning with essential topics such as handling missing data and the meaningful application of effect sizes and confidence intervals in psychological research. Participants delved into complex modeling techniques, including path analyses, mediation, and moderation, as well as an introduction to confirmatory factor analysis and measurement invariance. By bridging the gap between advanced linear regression and integrated structural models, the course provided attendees with the necessary tools to evaluate intricate theoretical frameworks. The ultimate goal was to empower participants with the practical skills required to apply these sophisticated statistical models to their own research findings with precision and clarity.
